Being an Advisor
When someone makes a decision to take their gifts to the professional level, it is a serious matter. Not only are they ready to take something that has been personal to them, something they have nurtured and sculpted, they are now saying they want to make it their career! It is both a beautiful and serious decision because if not done carefully, could turn their personal gift into a job they don't like! Imagine, being a great singer but being so brutalized by the industry you never want to sing again! That's what Advisors must be careful of.
People that want to work as a Psychic or Intuitive Telephone advisor should know some important guidelines.
Before Becoming An Advisor
- Be a Powerful Marketer: Powerful marketing is easier than it sounds but also easy to destroy. Powerful marketing shouldn't feel like marketing, it should give the consumer a feeling of wanting to be connected to you but the experience should not be like buying a new car. You should avoid any indications of pressure or desperation and should provide a reason for people to come to your site.
- Remove your Phone Numbers: Powerful people rarely have their phone numbers available for anyone to just pick up and call them
- Keep your skills fresh: Any job worth it's weigth would encourage their employees to improve. Continuing Education Credits are a part of most Universities and Corporations. We all get complacent which is why it's important to keep your skills honed. It will also be evident to your clients that you have done something different which will keep your relationship strong and will warrant a price increase in the future.
- Collect Emails Legitimately: If you are willing to write a horoscope or words of wisdom each day, you're clients may be willing to return to your web site for an update. Also, a weekly newsletter is the best encouragement for them to cough up those valuable addresses. Later you can use them to announce important events.
Advisor Guidelines and Suggestions
- Make Your Space Sacred: It is important that your reading space is clean, clear from clutter and supports you in giving your full attention to your client. NO external phones ringing, pet sounds, call waiting, horns honking, etc. Your client needs to believe that you are fully there for them.
- Get the best equipment you can afford! This is (hopefully) your career so investing a couple hundred dollars into it so that you sound powerful is worth every penny. Don't skimp on the one thing that you're getting paid for, your voice! If the client has to squint to hear you, then you lose your authority and a return client.
- Remember your Goal: Your goal for doing all of this is to help your client (that's right, that's why your doing this and don't forget it). You don't help by giving them what they want to hear, or by being short and uncaring. You help by honest and kind (simultaneously). You speak at the level where you client can understand you without being condescending or patronizing. The moment you think you are better than your client, or lucky NOT to be your client you're close to being asked to leave. Humility is key and remember, if you aren't feeling the chemistry, refer them to someone who may.
- Don't Diagnose! I can't emphasize this enough. We don't understand fully the power of persuasion but we know it's powerful. If you suggest that something physically is going on with their bodies you risk them creating the effect just by your suggestion. Regardless of how clear you think it is to you, you must always
translate what you're seeing into an energetic alternative. For example, if your mind's eye is seeing trouble in the colon, don't say, "Go get a colonoscopy" you might as well be saying, "I see Cancer" but rather, understand what digestion problems may be trying to tell you. Ask them if they have been having trouble accepting or "assimilating" a new circumstance.
- Never Predict Death! Even if the person's mother is 110 years old, don't put yourself in the "God-like" position of acting like you know when it's going to happen. You don't know because the future is not made of stone and the person's fear of death could be read as a death and then you're no longer helping. If you need convincing about this then you are in the wrong business.
- Be Professional! Never answer your advisor phone by saying just, "Hello". That puts the control in the hands of the unsuspecting caller who is already experiencing some anxiety over calling you. Answer with your name and a warm greeting that invites them to introduce themselves to you. Stay in charge and interested.
